What i find easy about basic map skills was using latitude and longitude and I actually enjoyed using latitude and longitude and i think it is kind of fun. I thought that is was pretty easy to use if i need to somewhere. I found it very easy to identify where places are What i had found more difficult with using basic map skills i think was using a key mainly because i think it is a little bit harder to find things like temperature and population based of colors and symbols. I also had found using a compass rose a little difficult because if you need find something, it is kind of difficult when there are many things in that direction yet i found it easy identifying which direction is which. I think that map skills are very necessary because they make it easier to find places on earth using them. They help me understand geography better by showing where different things are based on different map skills and can also show how far something is from somewhere.
I would have to disagree with longitude and latitude being easiest. I think the majority of the class found longitude and latitude hardest. You told me why you liked it best, like how it can help you if you need to go somewhere, but you didn't tell me why it seemed easiest to you. I also have to disagree with key being difficult. You said it was difficult to find things on the map like temperature and population based on symbols and colors. Colors and symbols are there to help you, without them we would most likely be looking at a map with numbers for population and temperature. I also disagree with compass rose being difficult. I will admit I can understand where you're coming from. Like trying to figure out where cape town is. Is it south, south west, or west? But I find it's easy if you drag your finger across the map to see, wait, Cape town is South! I agree with you on one thing though. About how map skills are necessary to find places on earth. Good Job!
